I think we can say that the bioshelter aquatic system is a success. Today I witnessed the hatching of a damselfly. Usually a bioindicator of good water, they come out in the spring. So, we are officially into spring in the bioshelter! We also know it is spring because the vegetable greens are going to flower. Still edible until the flowers open up, we’ve been eating bok choy and mizuna broccolis. These are slowly being replaced with sub tropical ground cover plants that will grow under the trees and shrubs. Next week I will post about the hot water solar panel I am building to help warm the tank water to get it ready for our Tilapia fish experiment. Stay tuned!
