Bioshelter survived a hail storm

The size of peas and small marbles, these hail pellets fell from the sky yesterday by the millions! Enough to turn the ground white in places. The picture above includes wood chips and hardy kiwis for scale. This was the largest hail storm the garden has experienced in the 10 years I’ve been here. Some foliage was damaged and the ground was ice cold for awhile due to the piles of ice, but the bioshelter survived the onslaught. I brought a bowl full of hail inside to eat. It tasted like a snow cone 🙂
